i just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.

Hi, I am new to the db ,in fact this is the very fist time I've given voice to my inner conflict . Let me explain, i am a JW lifer ,now at 44 I feel it is time to begin some serious thinking for myself .This past summer I began searching the forbidden land of internet "apostate" sites , and low and behold people that had some of the very same feelings and thoughts I've stuffed down for many years .Okay some things I've read are a bit whacked, but alot seem to be honest sincere people sick of stiffling their own consciences. At times I think I am going to go crazy......I still attend meetings most of my family are jw and my poor children have embraced this religion because of me . I sneak around on the net when no ones around afraid of what they will think ....God isn't that sad ! I don't have a clue to what i am going to do I am slowly trying to fade with out upsetting my family to much . I can't bring myself to go door to door anymore though , think that would be to hypocritical . If you don't mind I need a place to vent and I thought your sight would be a safe haven.Thanks for any input ,support, or advice I can get ! Hopefully I will be able to post more details of my troubled mind soon. thanks......... WOW ,alot has changed in four yrs and 2400 posts later ! My husband and Every one of my kids have now faded. None of us attend meetings anymore . We openly discuss the forum in our home .

Just had two kids knock my door

no not jws but lads aged about 10 years old.. they asked me if i wanted to buy an apple for 1.00.. coversation went as follows;.

me: are you trying to raise money?.

lads: yeah for charity.

That was very good of you ! I knew a little boy that use to go to neighbors selling rocks he had found ....and don't you know he usually sold them all ! hahaha

Were You Good At Field Service?

i used to be in awe at the jw's who were so good at the doors.

they were conversational, informative, and knowledgeable.

i sucked.

Yes I was good at the doors . I liked talking to people ,and I would prepare so I was confident in what I was saying . However I was not good at starting studies . I was told it was because I didn't go out enough (never pioneered or auxillary ) I think the real reason was that I never was one hundred percent happy as a witness and wasn't about to trap some other sucker into the unhappiness . Must of the people I met in service were relatively happy with their lives ....why screw it up for them .

dear friends,.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

I love this thread and always happy to add a bit .

My husband and I took a quick trip to Michigan's Upper peninsula (westside) last week . It was wonderful ! So relaxing . We stayed in a Mom and Pop motel right on the beach of lake Superior. I love to rock hound and this place was Paradise for doing that . We hiked in Porcupine Mountain state park ,and rumaged through old abandon mine dumps looking for cooper and other rocks and minerals. On the way home we stopped for a night in Lake Geneva ,Wisconsin ,a small lake resort town . I hated coming home :(

Being away on vacation this summer first in Colorado and then in Michigan have been a much needed get a way . For some reason being home and constantly reminded of our Witness past has been terribly stressful this year . It was nice on vacation to know when I roamed a grocery store or Wal-mart that I was not going to run into a former Witness friend or relative . How LONG is it going to take me to finally forget them all and not let it bother me seeing them on a daily basis . I want to move on ,but I feel stuck and stagnant .......I need a new fresh focus in my life something I can immerse myself into .

where appropriate, the shepherd briefly outlined the steps to be taken for reinstatement.

some persons like this repented and were reinstated.

Oh oh ...I think I fall under this category since I sent them a letter telling them to cease and desist contacting me, and badgering me with questions .

........and I am not even DF'd.....well as far as I know since they can't call to tell me
